Eng 352 Online Portfolio

My name is Jaime Torres. I am a senior Mechanical Engineering student, graduating this May. Upon graduation I will be working at Picatinny Arsenal. I also plan on continuing school at NJIT towards a Masters degree, and probably doing some traveling here and there. Aside from that I’m not sure what else I’ll be getting into, I’ll probably decide when the time comes. I currently reside in Union, NJ with my parents and my younger brother, who will be attending NJIT in the fall. My family is Colombian, my parents immigrated to this country a few years before I was born. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived there until I was 7. From there I moved to Queens, NY. When I was 13 my family decided to move to New Jersey. I lived in Cranford, where I attended school from 8th grade all the way through high school. From there we moved to Union. I played football in high school, but haven’t been involved in any sports in college. Instead I’ve been involved in a range of activities and organizations on campus, holding leadership positions with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, as well as my fraternity, Lambda Theta Phi. My involvement in these activities has helped me develop greatly in college outside the classroom, and it has helped me obtain several job opportunities, including internships with General Motors and General Electric, as well as my current opportunity with Picatinny Arsenal.
