Jim Robertson is the Director of the office of University Web Services at NJIT, a position he has held since Jul 2006. For the five years prior to that, he was the Assistant University Librarian for NJIT's Van Houten Library. Jim started at NJIT straight out of grad school as a Technical Reference Librarian in the Van Houten Library in the fall of 1992. After four years, he was promoted to the Director of the Architecture Library. During the five years Jim ran the ArchLib, he also became Director of Library Technology for the NJIT library system. Jim has a bachelor's degree in communications from Ithaca College and a master's degree in library and information science from Florida State University. Some of his professional interests are scholarly communications and technical writing, bibliometrics, the theory of classification of visual documents, and urban history and industrial archaeology. Some of his hobbies are soccer, model railroading, local history, and songwriting. |
