This workshop aims to bring leading experts, researchers, and industrial practitioners in the area of Petri nets and their applications to agile manufacturing and service automation together to share their new R&D results and present their vision in the area. Recently, Petri nets have gained significant amount of attention and applications in such areas as semiconductor manufacturing, nano-manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, discrete manufacturing, transportation, supply chain management, web service, batch processes, and process industry. Hence, this workshop intends to explore the theory and applications of Petri nets and present their recent developments in the following targeted subject areas:

1)       Theory of Petri nets for manufacturing and service applications

2)       Modeling and synthesis of Petri nets

3)       Qualitative and quantitative analysis using extended Petri nets

4)       Simulation and control of automated systems

5)       Deadlock control algorithms

6)       Planning and scheduling

7)       Hybrid Petri net models for automated production processes

8)       Object-oriented design and Petri nets in complex system development

9)       Novel Applications of Petri nets to semiconductor manufacturing, continuous manufacturing, nano-manufacturing, assembly, disassembly, discrete manufacturing, transportation, supply chain management, web service, batch processes, and process industry.

Paper Submission:

Papers must be written in English, and be no longer than 15 pages, including references, appendices and figures.  The paper must describe original work that has not been published before, nor submitted for publication elsewhere. Electronic manuscripts (preferably in PDF) should be sent to Ms. Bo Shang at optimalmatlab@gmail.com with a copy to Prof. MengChu Zhou at zhoumc@yahoo.com and Prof. Zhiwu Li at systemscontrol@gmail.com.

The submissions to the workshop will be evaluated by three members of the PC and all accepted papers will be included in an informal proceedings printed by the local organisers and handed out to the participants of the workshop.

Paper Acceptance:

Each accepted paper must be presented at the conference by one of the authors. The final manuscript must be accompanied by a registration form and a registration fee payment proof.

The final accepted paper (not longer than 15 pages) must follow the Springer LNCS-format: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. After the conference, the authors of the best papers will be invited to submit a revised version for a special issue of the LNCS Transactions on Petri Nets and Other Models of Concurrency (ToPNoC) published by Springer. The revised papers will go through an additional round of reviewing for the ToPNoC journal.

Important Dates:

􀂃 March 20: Electronic submission of papers to workshops.

􀂃 May 1: Notification of acceptance/rejection.

􀂃 June 1: Final version of papers (to workshop PC chair).
