User Website Access Statistics

Access statistics for individual Websites at http://web.njit.edu, the AFS Webserver, are not available to users.

Such statistics are available from the Apache Webserver access_log and error_log log files located in the /export/apache/logs direcory on the public-access machines afs31.njit.edu - afs35.njit.edu. Users who wish to collect such statistics should use the .htaccess file capability of Apache to redirect requests (use Apache's RedirectMatch directive) sent to their http://web.njit.edu/<ucid>/.. Website, to one of the afs<n>.njit.edu machines, and examine the Apache logs on that machine for the desired information.

Information on the use of .htaccess or RedirectMatch can be found by doing a search in, e.g., Google, for Apache htaccess or apache redirectmatch.

Note:

The Apache logs on afs31.njit.edu - afs35.njit.edu, and therefore the access activity to your Web pages, are viewable by anyone able to log in to those machines -- i.e., anyone with an AFS account.
afs31.njit.edu - afs35.njit.edu are not "production" machines, and may be out of service for up to 7 consectuive days
