Requests for New or Updated Services

  1. All requests for new services, including Web and database services, must be made at least three weeks prior to the beginning of the semester for which they are requested .

  2. Requests for new services must be made to the department chairs. Requests made by faculty or students directly to UCS will be forwarded to the department chair for consideration.

  3. Request for new commercial software must be made to the department chair at least six weeks in advance of its expected use. The process for purchasing new commercial software requires considerable interaction among UCS, the department and other divisions in IST.

  4. Requests for free, open source software, other than web and database software, which runs on Solaris and/or RHEL may be made directly to sys@oak.njit.edu at any time. This includes both new software and upgrading current software. These types of requests can often be accommodated within five working days.
