I received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota and joined the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of New Jersey Institute of Technology. I am also a graduate faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences.

My current research interests include digital communication and propagation modeling in wireless underwater and terrestrial channels, channel and parameter estimation techniques, space-time processing and interference cancellation, systems biology, molecular networks and cell signaling.

I  am a Senior Member of  IEEE  and  have  been an  Associate Editor  for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology from 2002 to 2007. I have served as technical program committee member and chair for a number IEEE conferences. I am also a member of SfN (Society for Neuroscience) and Acoustical Society of America.

Recently I have co-organized and co-chaired a special session entitled "Acoustic Particle Velocity and Vector Fields: Signal Processing and Communication Applications ,"  for the 159th Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America, Baltimore, MD, 2010.
