The race has been renamed in memory of Nick Russo who will now oversee the race from above. Nick would start planning the race in the summer. He handled all of the sports information for the New York and New Jersey area. He got articles in papers that would not even carry a XC score. Nick always was telling me, Al , just have fun…… I know he did. He would start the day by putting up the Banner across the finish. Then he pick up his camera. He loved taking pictures (6 or 7 rolls) and then sending them to the participants. He also looked forward to throwing the candy at the awards presentation. He would say, what is a Halloween run without the candy! At the end of the day when everyone was gone, he would say, "We made it happen". Nick, you will be missed.
