why NJIT?

If you are a high school student or a possible transfer student interested in joining the NJIT team,
then this page will guide you through the process of intercollegiate participation at NJIT.

First you should download this questionnaire and email it to Coach Al .  Also, have your guidance counselor FAX your transcripts (with SAT scores) to Coach Alonso at 973-596-8295(fax).

Second you should take a virtual tour at the NJIT main page. (Have you seen all our degree and course offerings?)

Third (if you have not done so yet) you should apply for admissions online NOW!     (let coach Al know that you have done so)

Fourth (if you have not done so yet) you should apply for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA online) and take the SATs.

Fifth you should register with the NCAA Clearing House and select Prospective Student-Athletes.  Request transcripts from all the high schools attended to be sent to the Clearinghouse for evaluation.  (NO Scholarships are offered without Clearinghouse preliminary approval for D1)

Sixth All incoming freshmen require a physical from their own doctor as well as a sports physical with the athletics doctor.  Please print the following Athletic Training forms and have your doctor complete them.  You will then need to schedule a review  by the NJIT team physician

Finally, upon graduation, request a FINAL transcript (indicating that you have GRADUATED) from your high school to be sent to the NCAA clearing house and check on line to make sure you have been certified.

A NEW email list will go into effect by the end of May for ALL XCountry and Track & Field athletes that plan on joining the team at NJIT. You should confirm with Coach Al to make sure that you are on the NEW list.
