Alexis Abreu My Website is for the company SK Tech, a company that specializes in network related solutions, ranging from hardware packages to different network security softwares. I will speak in great detail about the main page, because it is the template for all other pages. I will speak briefly about each individual page after that. All text is using the company's chosen text: Gang-of-Three. Please Note that the liquidy leftside navigation bar changes as you go through each page. Its simulates the flow that a flash application would give it. Not only the orientation of the links within it, but also how far it stretches into the page, and its extensions. Main-Page: The main page sets the template for the entire website. The top left is host for the company logo, and beneath it the company motto, or catch phrase. There are two navigation bars set up that frame the focus of the page (center). The top horizontal oriented navigation bar is host to links for visitors that are more focused in the companies dealings more-so than costumers would be. These links would be used mainly by investors, or shareholders in the company itself. The rightmost link is the HOME link, which returns the user from any page back to the homepage. The links are on a soft blue with grey background, so I gave them a soft blue with shadows text. At the top right you will notice two things. The first is a drop down menu that allows the user to select a language for the site. As the company has worldwide distribution and has both clients as well as affiliates throughout the world it is necessary to cater to their native languages. Next to it you will find the search input text field. Which allows the user to search the site for relevent information by keywords. The Left side houses our second navigation bar in a vertical orientation, this one being my favorite. The navigation bar holds the links that normal customers would find of interest, sending the user to appropriate pages holding information on Software, Hardware, distribution, support, etc. Unlike the links that are held within the horizontal navigation bar, where its a structured set, these links flow inside a field that is made to resemble liquid. A flash driven environment is used to house the links, where the liquid will randomly spread closer to the middle, and receed back into itself (never pushing past a certain set point). Inside the liquid field the links will shift, rotate, and flow but never overlap. The links themselves since they are housed in a blue field, are black text to allow better view. You will not see the pages individually shifting, but you will see that each page has the liquid field shifted from the others to give the look of its "flow" design. The bottom of the liquid field houses advertisement links within it for our affiliates. The bottom right side has a link to a partner company. I know that we were supposed to link to another student's website, but I had difficulty with fireworks (I created everything in illustrator, then transferred it over to fireworks in order to create the working site), and did not have time to integrate a link to Zaids site. The placeholder graphic is for Verisign. In the center is the focus of each page. On the main-page it is Updates on breaking News. Todays news is the anticipated release of SK version 7.0, as well as the visual demonstration of the program Flaaroon (which is highlighted in Red in order to catch the eye). The background of the page was chosen because it fits the color scheme (soft blue hues), and has a centered focus (the energy sphere in the center above the hand), inplace of the energy field is the company's icon. The icon spins within the home page. the bottom center holds the copyright for the company's name, logo, and website. Links from the main-page include: 14 total links. Each page has fully working horizontal and vertical navigation bar. Three of these links have working sub-links. All pages have a red highlight on their own link, to show where you currently are. Software Hardware Downloads Support Services Distribution ----> Links to Europe Distribution. Info Partners Contact Investors ----> Links to Newsservice. Home ----> Links to Flaaroon. Software: Things to note: The Software link that was clicked is now red text with a black shadow, this lets the user know what page they are visiting. The company logo has now shifted from the middle to the top. This page holds the featured product that the main page was advertising. Helping present the product is a graphic of my character, scaled down. Next to the featured product section is our arena s4 product list. The company hosts new seasons every two years, which is then used as the platform for new versions and additions to be launched. The red text is still being used to focus the viewer (red being a standout color with all the blue of the wepsite) Hardware: Things to note: The background has changed to red based, with a dragon in the back. The hardware link is now red to denote what page you are on. To contrast our new red background the Main caption of the page is in baby blue text with shadows. The focus of the page holds a dell screen (you can see the DeLL icon at the bottom of the screen), DeLL is one of our partners. Within the screen are a links that lead to hardware categories that our company sells. Such things as: Laptop cards, USB adapters, Routers, Network Extenders and Hubs & Switchs. The main caption "SELECT A CATEGORY BY CLICKING ON PICTURE" lets the viewer know how to navigate this page. Downloads: Things to note: Downloads uses the same red background of Hardware, and also introduces a template that I used on multiple pages. You will see that the caption of the page is displayed, then beneath it are three subsections, each with its own column. Under these subsections are some lines of information, with the link to the appropriate page at the bottom of each column to the right of our company icon. Support: Things to note: The support page holds our Knowledgebase seach engine. Viewers will be able to input search criterias into various fields then click the submit button in order to access our extensive knowledgebase filled with articles (both created by our employees as well as articles by users with responses from our employees) that are relevant to their searches Services: Things to note: The background of this page is different from the previous two. This one like the dragon holds a red based background. This page also uses the template set in Downloads, with three columns holding each subsection. Each column giving discription, and a link at the bottom to the appropriate pages. Distribution: Things to note: This page holds sub-links to the major zones of our distribution networks. Viewers have two ways of selection, first they can click on the listed zones (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceana), or they can scroll over the map, which will change the curser into a targetting reticle where they can zoom in by clicking. Each appropriate zone where our distribution routes are located are highlighted blue on a grey display of the world. This is shown if you look at the map of North America where you can see the red targetting reticle. Distribution has a working link to Europe, which is displayed by the red underline on it, showing what happens when you scroll over a selection from that column. Europe: Things to note: This page zooms the map to a section of Europe, and lists each individual country where we have offices and allows the viewer to select a country in which they are interested in further information on. This is a sub-link of Distribution, as such the leftside verticle navigation bar has distribution hilighted in red. Info: Things to note: The info page holds an archive of news. These are sorted as most recent first, showing 8 links at a time, with their date of release on the left hand side, with the right showing the title of the article. The bottom has an index, which allows you to navigate through further pages of links, giving the option for current page, the surrounding 4 pages, and a jump to the end (if you are in the middle an option to jump to the first page is also visible). Lastly it has the option to click "NEXT" to go to the next page in the list. Partners: Things to note: This page uses the template with three subsections with individual columns and links. There are three given subsections, where our partners are classified. Rogues, Hunters, and Battlemasters. These titles are explained briefly in each column, and I thought would give a unique type of partner classification than other companies. When you are part of the company, you are not just "a partner of SK tech", you are (for example), an SK Rogue. (The title sounds cooler in my opinion). Contact: Things to note: This page holds information for contacting SK Tech. Including our address, email etc. This also holds contact ways for viewers looking for employment, or to contact our webmaster with anything that would pertain to our website. Also tells the viewers that to find an SK Tech location in a select country to visit our distribution page. Investors: Things to note: This page uses the template of three columns. It deals with information of interest to Investors, current as well as potential future investors. The News Service link is a working link and discussed next. Newsservice: Things to note: This page holds information fields to be filled by the viewer. The information they enter will be added to our mailing database, and they will be sent our weekly e-mail that holds information about our company. The information they enter is also used by our company to monitor those who have shown interest, and we may use them to contact potential companies that we may want to do business with in the future. In other words by signing up, you are entered into our list of "potentials" that we can use to attempt contact on our behalf instead of only waiting for you to make contact. Flaaroon: Things to note: This page holds information on our product Flaaroon, with an embeded video that users can click on to play the live demonstration of the product. It also has a link towards the bottom to more information on the product, which would include the option to purchase the product of course.
