Forms, Procedures and Templates
- How to Set Up a Website at NJIT -
a guide to navigating the labyrinthine system to set up your server
space at NJIT.
- Syllabus Template- including
space for twice-weekly assignments.
- Speech Evaluation Form -
a form for each student to critique the oral presentation of another
- after the presentation, the presenter should have a good view of how
others perceived the talk.
- Lego Exercise - a really fun and
educational exercise that can be used early in the semester so that
the class can get to know each other (and also so that they can learn
how hard it is to write easy directions).
- Introduce Yourself Freewriting
- for the first day of class to get an idea of who your students are.
- Peer Review Forms - there are
two three-page forms for both the Procedure Peer Review and the Proposal
Peer Review. They are anonymous so that students can really give each
other honest feedback - just tear the cover sheet off after collecting.
- Process Exercise - a short
exercise that gets the students thinking about the workplace.
- Professor Johnson's MS Word Tips and
Tricks- some basic tips for creating slick Word documents.
- MS Word's Track Changes Feature -
this complex an annoying feature of Word is widely used in academia
AND industry when people are working on documents together. You can
get to know it now or you will have to get to know it on the job.
- How to Use Windows Explorer
as a Filing System - this is provided as an example of a procedure,
but I'm also including it here in case you YOURSELF don't yet do this
- it's handy to be able to organize your papers so that they can be
easily accessed.
