>>True Battousai

Some information on that little cutie.

names: His original name was Shinta - a boy whose parents died and was sold in the slave trade. After meeting Hiko, 13th master of the Hiten Misturugi style, he named the boy Kenshin. During the whole revolution he came to be called the Hitokiri Battousai - (Battousai meaning to draw out of the sheath of a sword - he perfected so well that he did it with great speed). In RK, as a wanderer, he returns to the name Himura Kenshin.
meaning:"Sword Heart." I forget which part of his name means this but it is one very close to his current personality in RK. He protects people with all his heart with his sword.
birthday: June 20, 1849
claims: The famous Hitokiri Battousai known throughout of Japan and some places around the world; the man who stopped Shisio Makoto from invasion of the Japanese government.
age: 28. This is mentioned during the episode in the Kyoto arc when Kaoru, Yahiko, and Misao meet Hiko, Kenshin's master.
dislikes: killing/hurting anyone and returning to his Battousai self.
likes: being laid back, doesn't mind doing household chores, and being around his circle of friends, i.e. Kaoru, Yahiko, and Sano.
weapons:his sakabata - known as a "reverse-blade" sword. It doesn't cut but can do a hell of a lot of damage in Kenshin's hands. His fighting style is the Hiten Misturugi.
physical:Awwwwwwwwww ::gets happy:: Standing short at 5'2", Kenshin is an ideal and quick fighter due to his weight and height. Compared to other characters in the plot, Kenshin's appearance is the most prominent - long red hair tied back in a ponytail, large purple eyes when content, and a large star -shaped scar on his right cheek (if facing him). When returning to his Battousai - self, his eyes turn smaller and yellow. He wears a dark red haori and a white hanaka. His appearance is also what makes Kenshin so unique. Sure, he looks puny...but...
motto:"Orrroooo!" which translates loosely to "Oh my!"
dangerous?: Only if you are reallllllllly bad and mean and evil. Other than that, Kenshin's a little sweetie. He has vowed to become a wanderer and only use his reverse - blade sword to help those in need. However, be warned - his sword fightening is one that can leave you unconscious for hours and an attack from his sword looks like he shoveled up your skin.
human?: yah, but his abilities are so god - like - hence god - like speed.
antagonists: in the Tokyo arc, it was mainly that dude that employed Aoshi and the Oniwanbashu; in the Kyoto arc, Shisio Makoto and his Juppangata were against him. In the last arc, it was mainly Shougo, the Christian guy and some other random people.
"companions": Kaoru (perhaps Kenshin's love interest in RK), Yahiko, Sanosuke, Megumi, Dr. Genkai and his two cute granddaughters, Misao and the rest of the Oniwanbashu in Kyoto, + for governmental purposes only Saito Hijime. During the OVAs, it was Hiko, his master and his first wife Tomoe.

scar on the cheek? I haven't paid much attention to the OVAs, but I do know that the first cut on his cheek was from Tomoe's husband. The second scar was completed by her while she was dying.
