ABSTRACT
How to give a winning presentation
Speaker: Alexandre Ermoline
Oral presentations are an integral part of academic and professional life. Employers everywhere expect graduates to have skills in the areas of interpersonal communication. But the ability to give effective presentations is more than just oral skills, it is also evidence of the speaker’s professional competence, his or her ability to think logically, to plan and organize thoughts, to assess correctly situation in which the presenter is involved.
This is an informal talk on giving presentations that is based completely on personal experience (which, unfortunately for the speaker, also includes many mistakes made) acquired on scientific meetings, conferences, seminars both by giving his own presentations and carefully observing other speakers. The speaker shares some of his not-from-the-book tips, views and observations on preparing and presenting talks to technical audiences.
