ABSTRACT
Spray jets into cross flow, whose flow mixing characteristics should be different under different conditions such as with different cross flow angles, bounded or unbounded, with or without rapid evaporation, with or without solids load in the crossflow, are widely used in various industrial applications. The objective of our study is to learn the flow characteristics of spray jet into different crossflows. In the study, experiments and numerical simulations of cold nitrogen gas spray jet into air crossflow at room temperature, rapid evaporating liquid nitrogen jet into air crossflow at room temperature and into solids-loaded air crossflow are performed. The air entrainment rates of nitrogen gas spray jet under different boundary conditions are calculated and compared. The similarity of the oxygen concentration profile and temperature profile is obtained from experimental results. In the presentation, there also shows some primary research approaches of experiments and numerical simulations of liquid nitrogen jet into solids-loaded air cross flow. The prospect research approaches would be focused on the detailed research of these experiments and numerical simulations.
