Welcome to Our Parish

Saints Joseph and Michael Roman Catholic Church is one of 230 parishes in the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey. Our mission is to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the age old tenents of the Holy Catholic Church

Sts. Joseph and Michael's parish stands in an urban neighborhood ministering to the needs of an ethnically diverse community.

If we consider the Archdiocese as a microcosm of the Church, then this parish can be viewed as a microcosm of the Archdiocese especially on Sundays when we all come together to worship as one. For all peoples, in all places, in all ages, we come together as One Church, One Body in Christ to worship.

This unity through diversity has never been more evident than at our multilingual Christmas Eve MidNight and our Easter Vigil Masses. With readings and carols in English and Spanish, a sung Kyrie and "Agnus Dei" it truly felt as if the Communion of Saints were present looking on and giving their blessing. Coming together as a community, and as a family, to worship is a visible sign of unity and fraternal love, sharing "One Lord, One Baptism, and One Faith".

This unity and diversity is also evident in Mother Seton Interparochial School, where the children are exposed to sound Catholic teaching and doctrine.
