1: Design Challenge
Name:
The name of my company is “Alvarez Security”. After giving it a lot of thought,
and after seeing that I wasn’t able to come up with a good name for a company,
I decided to go with my own last name. Once I came up with the logo, I decided
found out that this might not have been such a bad idea. The main purpose of
this company is to provide security services to computer users. The other
companies that I found were McAfee, Norton, Panda, and AVG.
Audience:
This product is intended for users with little to no experience when it comes
to the security with their computers. This product is mainly created to protect
the users in a very easy and straight-forward way.
Color:
I chose the color Red because red represents strength and desire. The strength
shows that we will provide the best service available and that we have desire
to do so. I also chose the color Black because it represents elegance. Even
though we are providing a service, this elegance shows that were are a
professional company.
Logo:
Since my company is in the security business, I was trying to figure which was
the best protection a person can have when in battle. In that process, I
somehow got myself driven to the medieval times. So the best tools that were
used for protection were a shield and swords. Once I figure it out, I found the
best to incorporate the shield into my name. I decided to replace the middle
“A” in “Alvarez”, which made the logo stand out. Once the shield was in the
logo, I placed a lock inside it to indicate protection. For the alternative
logo, I made the company name with some red which makes the name pop. As for
the icon, I use the shield from the main logo, and I added two swords crossing
behind of it. I also place the company’s initials inside the shield.
