Aridaman (Ari) K Jain is a Senior University Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is also the coordinator of the Statistical Consulting Lab. Some of the recent consulting projects are included in the list of projects under the tab Projects.
Before joining NJIT in 2003, he worked for 34 years at Bell Laboratories and Telcordia Technologies as Member of Technical Staff/Distinguished Member of staff/Technical Manager, where he made a broad range of technical contributions:

Conducted several studies on Statistical Modeling of the quality of air, water, and soil in the Meadowlands district (jointly with Prof. Ken Johnson):
Developed two ballots – long and short – and the corresponding voting scenarios, based on fractional-factorial designs. These voting scenarios are being used for casting votes and collecting data generated in both paper records and electronic files for the testing of the new electronic voting machines.
Developed 99% and 99.73% confidence intervals for the sample variances used for making acceptance/rejection decisions for inclusion in ASTM Standard E11 for the inspection of sieve openings in the warp and weft directions.
Analyzed the effects of demographic variables on the performance of middle school students.
