Subject: Regarding the Wikipedia Project
The article that I chose (Oligopoly) already contained a good deal of information on what an oligopoly was when I came across it. However, the examples listed were uncited, there was irrelevant information inside of the article, and a good deal of highly technical information was located near the top (which goes against Wikipedia’s guideline that more technical information should come later in an article). The sources added to the article are intended to back up the examples of oligopolies that were given in the article. These examples are all modern to strike a chord with the reader and make the concept of an oligopoly easier to understand. Some examples were removed and others added in an attempt to keep the information clearer and more accurate. I added over fifteen branch outs (mostly economic concepts and companies that make up oligopolies), making a wealth of information accessible to anyone viewing the article. One branch in was added due to the adding of one of the examples in the Oligopoly article (the Big Four auditing companies). No feedback has been received in the talk page of the article and no messages regarding it have been left on my personal talk page, so I do not have any measures by which to gauge the reaction of the Wikipedia community. However, it is my belief that the article has been strongly improved in the small edits that I have made to it. It is now much more readable, is cited properly in its examples (there are six added sources), and contains only relevant information. I believe that I have improved the article to the best of my ability in the short time span allotted and that I deserve a high grade as a result.
