ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (2004 - Present)

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (1999 - 2004) - Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Department of Engineering Technology. Also teaching courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Research interests include investigation of "intelligent" systems as a reliable means of structural integrity assessment of underground infrastructure for wastewater and drinking water conveyance and storage.

ENGINEERING CONSULTANT - Forensic engineering including accident reconstructions, stress and vibration analyses, as well as, transient heat transfer and thermal stress analyses, and the design and analysis of submersible vehicles.

ENGINEERING CONSULTANT (1994 - 1999) - Forensic engineering and project management. Services provided have included accident reconstructions, including impact analysis of motor vehicle collisions, industrial accident and hazardous materials investigations, transient heat transfer and limit load analyses of various mechanical components, and safety analysis of walking surfaces, as well as, various types of machinery and mechanical systems. Failure analysis including stress, vibration and finite element analyses, mechanical testing and test procedures. Technology transfer including the utilization of computer generated animations for enhanced visualization of results.

 

VISTA RESEARCH, INC. (1991 - 1994)

 

SENIOR RESEARCH ENGINEER - Environmental Programs. Responsibilities included the development and management of leak detection program for gravity-fed radioactive waste pipelines at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the direction of large scale test programs, the development of new leak detection methods for storage tanks and pipelines using analytical modeling and field experiments at the USEPA Underground Storage Tank Test Facility in Edison, New Jersey.

 

THE TITAN CORPORATION - A.R.A.P. Division (1981 - 1991)  (Formerly, Aeronautical Research Associates of Princeton, Inc.)

 

CONSULTANT (In-house Title) - Solid Mechanics Department. Various engineering research and development responsibilities in Tactical Technology Operations (TTO), including task leader in their DARPA composite ceramic armor program, management of ballistic testing programs, development of new armor technologies, stress and vibration analysis of missiles and undersea vehicles, impact and penetration mechanics, and finite element analysis.

 

FOSTER WHEELER ENERGY CORPORATION (1973 - 1981)

 

EQUIPMENT DESIGN ENGINEER - Staff Engineering Operations. Special engineering studies including stress, vibration and failure analyses of large utility steam generators and their associated peripheral equipment, e.g., heat exchangers, pressure vessels and piping, fans and pumps.
