Site Strategy:
My first attempt was to study the site in terms of its current activity. I began to study the relationship between the existing conditions, and experiment with injecting any new activities that would help to enrich the currently static site. My approach was to divide the site into what iI called "zones". The division helped me understand the site in terms of program and their direct relationship to one another. Through the introduction of a new program, I began to experiment with overlapping these zones to create a dynamic connection between them. The overlap would occur primarily in sections, just as the current site presents itself in the areas that i find most dynamic.

Building Concept:
When looking at the site and the existing sheds that are present, you notice the strong detachment between the waterfront and the interior condition of the site. My solution is to re-connect the two through the building that is created. I have attempted to create elements within the building that attempt to resolve this predicament. The five element not only serve as sources of connection, and integration, but also are programed in order to enhance their presence. The major function of these elements is to provide the building with a gallery, lobby, pin-up (display) space, and circulation spaces. in a way these elements become a separate entity within the building acquiring a different language, and as a result begin to cut and slice the building with reference to their placement.
