How to pick up and submit homeworks for Physics 105 Section 006

Pick up and submit your homeworks through a web-based service at University of Texas.

Detailed instruction can be found at https://hw.utexas.edu/bur/studentInstructions.html

The procedure is as follows.

First, create your EID at Texas University.

1. Go to https://hw.utexas.edu/

2. Click “I need a UT EID”

3. Click: “Get a UT EID”

4. Follow the steps and fill up the application form (prospective student, invent your SSN). 

5. Don't forget to write down your user name and password.

Once you have UT EID, register for the class

1. Go to https://hw.utexas.edu/, again.

2. Login with UT EID and password.

3. Click “Register as students”

4. Fill out the form (Class ID number is 41132), and click “OK”

5. Check the information (Instructor’s name will be Jan Opyrchal, not Ken Ahn.), and click “OK”

6. You will see “Success”, meaning that you are register for the class.

7. Click either “Click here”, and you will see the link for the course. Next time you login, you will see this in your login page.

Once you register for the class, you are ready to pick up homeworks.

1. Go to https://hw.utexas.edu/ and login. (or, continue after “#7” above)

2. Click “41132 with instructor Jan Opyrchal”

3. Click “Pick up homework (or other assignment)”, next to “2.1 -- download”

4. Select the homework and click OK

5. Click to download your homework in pdf, ps or Tex file format.

6. You get your homework! You can print or save it, or you can retrieve later on the same website. Check out the due date.

Now, you work on the homework problems.

Submission of your answers is also done through the website. You can submit your answer to each problem separately in any oder. You will have more than one chances to submit your answers, with penalty points. To prevent random selections of answers in multiple choice questions, penalty points for wrong answers could make your score negative.

If you are ready to submit your answers,

1. Go to https://hw.utexas.edu/ and login.

2. Click “41132 with instructor Jan Opyrchal”

3. Click “Submit homework (or other assignment)”, next to “3.1 – submit”

4. Choose the mode and the homework set

5. Keep in mind the instruction 1-5.

6. Submit your answers to questions. Try “get status” and “Show summary”.

7. You can log out and continue later by logging in again.

Don’t forget to log out, when you are done!
