Grading: Your final grade in Physics 111 will be determined by your performance on the following,

  1. Common Quizzes (45%): Three common quizzes will be given during the semester. The schedule is:
    • Common Quiz 1(15%): Friday, October 6, 8:30 am - 9:45 am, at KUPF 211
    • Common Quiz 2(15%): Friday, November 3, 8:30 am - 9:45 am at KUPF 211, download quiz2 Formula Sheet.
    • Common Quiz 3(15%): Wednesday, November 22, 8:30 am - 9:45 am
  2. Final Exam (30%): A comprehensive examination of the entire semester's work will be given at the end of the semester. FINAL: 2:30PM—5.00PM, Dec 21st (Thursday), GITC 1400. Formula sheet, REVIEW Notes plus question break-down page. Also notice, Prof. Halina will give a review on Thursday (12/14), starting at 11am at Tiernan Hall, Lecture Hall 2.
  3. Lecture Quizzes (5%): A short quiz will be given during each lecture covering the work of the preceding week.
  4. Homework (15%): Homework assignments will be posted on-line at University of Texas Homework System. All the information needed to pick-up your homework every week is listed at Halina Opyrchal's WWW Page.
  5. Workshop (5%): Workshop assignments will also be posted on-line at Halina Opyrchal's WWW Page. It is your responsibility to bring a hardcopy of assignment to the workshop class.
