  • Text: "Biochemistry: A Foundation", Peck Ritter, Brroks Cole Publishers
    Note that answers to all the problems within the chapters are located at the end of the text.

  • Medical case studies, taken from the literature, will be discussed in class to illustrate biochemical principles.

  • There will be very short quizzes and homework worth a total of 10% of the course grade.
    There will be three exams each worth 30% of the course grade.
    The scheduling of the first two exams will depend upon the progress of the course.

  • The prerequisite for the course is one year of organic chemistry.
    The course may be taken concurrently with the second semester of Organic Chemistry with the approval of the instructor.
