Ali Avni CIRIK - PHD Student: Information Systems |
Ali Cirik completed his 3rd semester as a Ph.D. student in Information Systems department at New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Kultur University.
Ali Cirik has been working on David Mendonca's "AOC: Improvisation in Emergency Response: Linking Cognition, Behavior and Social Interaction" project since he joined the research team in January 2007. His research interests focus on identifying underlying cognitive dynamics of emergency response.
He spent eight months as a visiting scholar in Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He will spend two semesters in the University Of Lisbon, Portugal starting from Fall 2008 as an exchange student.

Madhavi M. Chakrabarty - PHD Student: Information Systems |
Madhavi M. Chakrabarty has been working with David Mendonca since Fall 2004. She is PhD (ABD) in Information Systems at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Madhavi has worked with David on various projects including the NSF grant on Decision Technologies for Managing Critical Infrastructure Interdependencies, CMS-0301661. She also has several publications and working papers with David.
Her research interests include information visualization, Human-computer interaction, visual problem solving and multi-modal user interfaces.

Abhilasa Sarma - Graduate Student: Computer Science |
Abhilasa is currently pursuing her Masters in Computer Science at NJIT. She topped her Undergraduate in B.E. (Electrical) and was an Honors Student.
She was awarded the Best Electrical Graduate by the Institution of Engineers, Gauhati Chapter, India for the year 2004.
She worked as a Development Specialist in SAP Labs India from 2005-2007 in Research and Breakthrough Innovation on Enterprise solutions for small & medium sized industries (SME). She was later promoted to Senior Software Engineer in 2007 and continued to work on PLM platform architectural topics.
Her interests lies in databases, enterprise solutions; both technical and functional. She has worked on ABAP, SAP Netweaver Platform, Enterprise Portal, and Visual Composer.

Monika Bihan - Graduate Student: Bioinformatics |

Monika Bihan is currently a Masters student in Bioinformatics department at NJIT. Monika Bihan's research interests, in general, looking into the gene functions using various tools and maintaining biological databases. She want to have more insight in this field in near future.

Supriya Sahay - Graduate Student: Information Systems |
Supriya is currently pursuing her Masters in Information Systems at NJIT. She graduated with Honors for her undergraduate course in Electrical Engineering.
She joined the team as graduate research assistant. Supriya's prime responsibilities are to assist Dr. David Mendonca in financial and official administration. Supriya is also involved in research activities and is currently assisting the HSD project team.

Josh RosenHanst is currently an undergrad student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, concentrating in the field of Multimedia. Josh is also pursuing a minor in Management.

Motolani Olarinre is currently an undergraduate Biology student attending NJIT. His current work with Dr Mendonca involves ascribing codes to research data. He hopes to go one day into biological research in the field of microbiology.

Steven Ziegler - Undergraduate Student: Civil Engineering |

Steven Ziegler is currently an Undergraduate Civil Engineering student attending NJIT. Steven recently joined David Mendonca's team of researchers investigating emergency responder's behavioral response in disaster situations.
Steven finds this field of work to be both satisfying and intriguing, and hopes that he will be able to work on an engineering based research project some time in the future.
