Ambulance Parking OnlyVehicles other than ambulances tend to congregate to ambulance parking spaces outside the ER. The usual offenders are ER staff and physicians, with the occasional patrol car every once in a while. As such, hospital security is usually unwilling or unable to do anything about it. So, every once in a while I take it upon myself to make sure the nurses and doctors remember that just because they drive an enormous, expensive SUV that is as big or bigger than my ambulance, they still do not have the right to hinder patient care by taking up all of the ambulance parking spaces. You're not going to stop us from coming, and if the stretcher topples because we had to drag the patient all the way across your poorly paved parking lot, you're just going to have more work to do. Anyway, click here to see my friendly "you're not an ambulance" reminder (in Adobe PDF format), complete with a picture of Dr. Garipalli's car with 1/2 inch medical tape letters across the front. |
