Philanthropy

The Distinguished sisters of Delta Phi Omega believe that success is achieved through hard work and a good educational background. For that reason, the sisters of Delta Phi Omega have chosen Child Literacy as our Philanthropy. We work hard to provide the utmost care to any child we can. Our efforts are not be limited only to South Asian children; they are dedicated to educating children worldwide.

Pratham

Pratham is an organization mission to put every child in school and learning. It was established in 1994 by UNICEF and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. The organizers of Pratham believe that “illiteracy is the root cause of India's woes of population, pollution, poverty and corruption. Education is a basis to many important decisions in life and Pratham sees that and has dedicated a lot of help and care in proving that to kids. When the organization first started they were helping 2000, children in Mumbai, and today they are helping more than 220,000 children all over India. Pratham established many goals for itself that it has fulfilled over the year, many of them being:

Increase awareness for illiteracy and its evil consequences.
Raise funds for Pratham's literacy effort in India.
Arrange internship programs for US Students to volunteer in India.
To wipe out  illiteracy from India by 2010.

CARE

CARE is another organization similar to Pratham. CARE works with poor communities with more than 70 countries around the world and its primary goal is to end poverty.
