to NETSECMODE The Network Security, Management and Optimal Design Testing Laboratory (NETSECMODE) is a state of the art extensive and robust test bed network with a fiber optic backbone and various cutting edge networking technologies, which provides a perfect example of a real world Inter-network. The objective of this testbed is to considerably facilitate and inspire new research efforts and activities in the areas of network security,management and design, by providing an environment where assumptions can be tested, concepts can be proven, and systems can be demonstrated and validated. The current available equipment can emulate the behavior and the impact of a typical wide area network currently supported by network and service providers. The hierarchical network design of the testbed provides the users with scalability, reliability, redundancy as well as the ability to test new applications. The network test-bed and associated equipment can be used to: (1) demonstrate innovative concepts in a small to medium scale; (2) validate developed models; (3) evaluate the behavior of developed protocols and techniques under realistic environment. |
