How to woo women with a variety of drinks

I think it is one of the funniest videos I have seen  in a long time. It has a bunch of great dialog. Hope you enjoy it.

Online Shopping

December 17th, 2008

Recently I have found myself constantly browsing online websites for deals and bargains looking for things to buy that I do not even need. I think the sheer convenience of being able to browse for almost anything imaginable adds to its allure. You are able to compare prices instantly, find product reviews, and even compare different products with only a few mouse clicks. The ease of it all makes it all the worse. I know online shopping isn’t a brand new phenomenon, but it has just captivated me recently. Maybe it is due to the upcoming holiday or the fact that deal sites, that showcase bargains all over the web, have been emerging daily. Some of the better offerings come from www.dealnews.com, www.slick-deals.net, and www.fatwallet.com. Although it also seems every blog in any shape or form is posting daily deals on their site as well. I hope this new “hobby” quickly fades or I am able to control my online spending before my credit card company owns my house.

WordPress on the iPhone

July 22nd, 2008

WordPress has just released their iPhone application for use with their blogging software. The software seems really easy to use and works with both self hosted blogs running wordpress software and blogs hosted on the wordpress site. After installing the application to your iPhone simply add a blog by entering the URL and your username/password, wordpress will then display the last 30 posts from your blog. You can then create a new post by clicking the new post button on the main screen. If you are not finished writting your new entry you can save it locally to the iPhone. The software also allows you to add pictures to your post from the photo library on the phone or take a picture with the camera. Once you are ready to publish your post you can just set the post to publish and it will post the entry to your blog.

Giants Win Super Bowl and I’m Getting a Turtle

February 6th, 2008

So yeah the New York Giants won the Super Bowl. Who would have guessed. The best part about this whole situation is Dave Bernard, a former Warcraft Champion, was so excited after the Giants victory he was seen running through the streets of University Heights, naked, screaming “You want a turtle, I’ll buy you a turtle, I’ll buy everyone turtles”. This is great news for everyone involved. Todd and myself get turtles and Islam got to see Dave naked. A little back story on Dave. Dave used to spend his days playing Tekken Tag at Oxford Valley mall until he discovered the internet and the arcade shut down turned into a forever 21. Once Dave discovered the internet he was immediately drawn to Warcarft. Dave became so obsessed with warcarft he dropped out of high school and played all day and night without much sleep, eating only pre-packaged snacks like Pork Rinds and Funyuns. Dave quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the pro gaming circuit, with his first major victory at the Stewart Gray Warcarft LAN Party. The national attention Dave was getting from his victory went to his head and Dave got lazy and let his game go to shit. He was stripped of his championship status a year later at the Islam ElNaggar English as a Second Language Benefit Tournament when an index finger injury left him unable to control his mouse and unable to left click in the final bout. This was a major blow to the champion when Islam ElNaggar himself won the tournament defeating Dave very easily. It was one hell of a ride for our friend Dave. Today you can find Dave trolling Warcraft forums discussing strategy and playing the occasional game of Warcraft, although he doesn’t compete professionaly anymore. Until next time.

Hey what should I name my turtle?

Light as Air

January 16th, 2008

Yesterday Steve Jobs introduced a bunch of new products at Macworld during his keynote, an update to Apple TV as well as an update to the iPhone/iPod Touch firmware (1.1.3). Steve also introduced: Time Capsule Apple’s version of network assisted storage, iTunes movie rentals and the most notable of the new products, the Macbook Air, an ultra-thin portable laptop. When I first saw pictures of the Macbook Air I immediately “needed” one as did every other Apple fan boy out there. At first look the Macbook Air is pretty sweet, although it is a bit over priced (price $1799 or $1699 for students). I must admit that it looks really cool and I cannot wait to go down to the Apple store to test drive one. If I were in the market for purchasing a new laptop this would defiantly be a consideration, although I am not planning on purchasing a laptop anytime soon since I recently purchased a Macbook Pro, the big brother to Macbook Air.

Top 10 Movies of 2007

January 13th, 2008

So keeping up with my new years resolution I decided to write up a post about the films I enjoyed the most this past year. Like always the only thing good about a list is that it stirs discussions which in turn create debates which could lead to learning and sharing of knowledge. So with out further ado:

Top 10 Movies: 2007 Edition

1. Gone Baby Gone
2. Superbad
3. 3:10 to Yuma
4. Zodiac
5. 300
6. The Lookout
7. Ratatouille
8, Knocked Up
9. Reign Over Me
10. Sweeney Todd

Honorable Mention: Breach

I would still like to see: There Will Be Blood, The Kite Runner, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Crawford.

New Year’s Resolutions

January 9th, 2008

I was recently reading an article that suggested a few tips on how to keep true to your New Year’s Resolutions. The only suggestion that really stuck out in my mind was to stick to one resolution. The article explained, if you try to change too many things about yourself at one time you probably will give up due to resolution overload and have another uneventful year. So this year for my resolution I have decided I am going to read and write more frequently. I know I have posted blog posts before saying, “Welcome to my new blog, I am going to keep it up to date this time” and have continually failed to update my blog, but this year will be different. I promise. I also have started reading more again. When I worked at Halo Pub (my MCCC days) I used to read at least one book every week while working at the pub when it was slow. As I got older and went off to NJIT, I let that slip away from me because video games, poker, weightlifting, and frat parties got the best of me. Since the begining of the year I have tried my best to read a little bit before bed everynight and alway keep a book near incase I get some downtime so I can sneak in a few pages in while at work. Now before you start saying I am not following my own suggestion of sticking to one goal, let me explain. I think reading and writting go together, if I plan on writing more frequently I will need things to write about, so by reading more this will give me content to write about. So my resolution is kind of a combo or a twofer ( Two for One). Until next time.

Five Albums I Just Cannot Live Without

June 27th, 2007

A few weeks ago I started taking my little cousin to the gym with me, on our commute to the gym we generally listen to music in my car. Last night on our way home from Stephen (my cousin) asked me who my favorite band of all time was, I thought for a bit and really couldn’t give him a definite answer. Although his question did provoke some though. What albums do I listen to over and over again despite having listened to them countless times before? So i figured I would write about five (5) albums I just can’t live without. Now I typically hate lists, because lists are purely bases on opinions and everyone has an opinion, so anyone can make a list. Never Ending Summer BBQ

May 29th, 2007

Memorial day kicks off the start of summer and what is summer without a few barbecues?
This weekend I attend my fair share of bbqs and I also threw one of my own. So here is a recap of the holiday weekend, complete with an award section so read the whole post.

Friday Night: Rob’s Birthday Celebration.

This was not a barbecue, but more of a gathering which started around 9 on Friday evening. The guest list was jam packed with Lawrence High alumni who I have not seen is a long time. Rob had a half keg and some hard alcohol, some chips and dip, and pizza. The pizza was pretty good especially after a few beers. Rob’s TV looks great with his new wall mount, which allowed everyone at the party go get a great view of Planet Earth in High Definition on the Discovery Channel.

Saturday: Mohamed’s Farewell BBQ at Dave Bernard’s

Islam wanted to say good-bye to his brother in style with a BBQ blow out. The event was held at Dave Bernard’s house in Hamilton. Islam went all out with the spread which included: hot dogs, hamburgers, a wide selection of beer and other assorted alcoholic beverages, chips, pretzels, and a vegetable platter. The attendees were a hungry bunch eating over 90 hot dogs and hamburgers. It was a gorgeous afternoon and it was ashame that Dave’s pool was not ready yet. The barbecue ended in the late afternoon with a bunch of people smoking cigars and reliving old stories from college. Over all it was a good time for everyone who attended.

Sunday: Dave Root’s BBQ

Rooter decided to keep the weekend going strong by having another BBQ. Dave had homemade hamburgers, tequila lime chicken, bbq chicken, hot dogs, corn, pasta salad, chips, and strawberries with honey and mint. Dave also had a quoits pit set up and a new game similar to quoits called ladder ball. Stuart and Sabrina made a brief appearance taking some time out of their hectic schedule and stopped by to say “Hello”. Jenn and I destroyed Islam and Kristen in ladder ball, and then let the crown slip through our hands in quoits pit (Final score: Bob/Jenn 1 – Islam/Kristen 1). After the BBQ, Jenn and I went to Atlantic City where I played some poker (2-5 NL). It was a successful session even though I was card dead for 3 hours. From Atlantic City we drove to Point Pleasant to prepare for our BBQ.

Monday: The Chojnacki/Maruca Annual Memorial Day Barbecue Blast

The annual Barbecue almost didn’t happen this year because my mother was in France this past week, returning home Sunday, but to keep tradition alive i made all the arrangements without her. The guest list was the usual, the family, Islam and Kristen, and surprise guest John Bennett. The fare offered was: bbq chicken, caesar dressing marinaded chicken, hamburgers, sausage, hot dogs, shrimp, chips and dip, corn, watermelon, cookie trays from Mastoris (thanks Islam), home made cookies, and strawberries with mint and honey(idea stolen from Dave Root). We also went out and got a ladder ball set (idea also stolen from Dave Root) because we loved the game so much and Jenn and I were good at it. Everyone had a good time and after we stuffed our faces we made our annual “take the kids to the boardwalk” trip. Stephen went 3 for 3 in one of the cranes scoring (2) Friday the 13th dolls and (1) Nightmare on Elm Street doll. I won Jenn a Minnie Mouse plush and Joey won his girlfriend Megan some stuffed toys as well. After the board walk we went back to the house and had some ice cream before returning to Hamilton.

Over all I had an amazing weekend and got to see my family, friends and some friends I have not scene in a long time. Thanks to Islam, Dave Bernard, Dave Root, and Rob for having parties.

Awards:

Best Burger: Dave Root

Best Healthy Dessert: Dave Root – Strawberries with honey and mint.

Best Unhealthy Dessert: Aunt Marry Joan- Seven layer bars.

Biggest Eater: Islam ElNaggar – Weekend Totals (Hamburgers: 10, Hot dogs: 20, Chicken: A shit load)

Best New Game: Ladder Ball

Boys and their Toys

April 26th, 2007

The weather is breaking and I felt like I needed a new toy to play with. The PS3 just isn’t cutting it anymore. Xbox live is getting boring and how many movies can I really watch? Since I plan on spending more time at the beach this summer than last year, I figured I might as well travel in style. So check out my new toy.
