- June: Congratulations to Tanya on passing her qualifying exam!
- Sarah has now discovered two new-to-the-US bee genera at Liberty State Park and the NJ Meadlowlands. She was featured in an article in the Bergen County Examiner.
Research grants, etc.
- New research grant award to GJR: Understanding the Dynamic Connections Among Stewardship, Land Cover, and Ecosystem Services in New York City's Urban Forest. From NSF.
- New research grant award to GJR: Climate change and Species Ranges — Southwest USA. This award will fund Jessica for the 2009–2010 academic year.
- New research grant award to GJR: Group Undergraduate Biology and Mathematics Training Program at NJIT. This is an extension of the award which has brought some talented undergraduates into the lab (such as Abraham Rosales — see "Recently published" below).
