Roger Solano is a Lecturer in Supply Chain Management and Operations Management at Missouri S&T since 2008. His lectures are highly interactive with a strong emphasis in hands on learning, problem solving, and teamwork. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from La Universidad del Zulia (Venezuela), a Master in Science and Doctorate degrees in Industrial Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has a strong background in business and information technology. He has taught at Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacin (Venezuela), Universidad del Zulia (Venezuela) and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Professor Solano has been a consultant for Diagnostic Products
Corporation (DPC) (now part of Siemens Medical Solutions), HIDROLAGO
(Public Water systems for western Venezuela), and the state of Zulia
(Venezuela). His expertise is in mathematical modeling and
optimization.
Prior to his academic career he worked as a production engineer
at Cerveceria Regional (Venezuela) where he was also involved in the
implementation of ERP systems. Afterwards, he started a managerial
career at HIDROLAGO, where he developed and managed the capital
investment budget and was responsible for the business intelligence
and performance indicators for the whole corporation.
Professor Solano's current areas of interest include Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, and Quantitative Modeling and Optimization for the Service Industry. He has also been strongly involved in outreach programs improving science education in the state of New Jersey, with emphasis in inner city public schools.
The Missouri S&T ERP program work very closely with many ERP companies on different collaboration projects to serve our business community and to bring managerial relevance into our business education in a Hi-Tech world.
The Missouri S&T ERP program prepares undergraduate and graduate students for positions as both technical and business consultants in the ERP field.
