Three merit based scholarships under the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) grant are available for full time MS students (limited to American citizens or permanent residents) in the Occupational Safety and Health Engineering (OSHE) program at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Graduates or graduating students with BS degree in Engineering, Science and Technology, with GPA 2.8 or higher are encouraged to apply for admission/transfer to the MS OSHE program at NJIT for the scholarship consideration.

Brief program description: The subject areas covered are Ergonomics, Biomechanics, Safety Engineering, Systems Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Statistics, and Human Factors. The program consists of 30 course credits, and a six-credit thesis. Non engineering undergraduates may be required to take additional bridge courses. MS in OSHE program covers the application of engineering principles to the design and maintenance of workplaces in order to minimize potential hazards related to job performance. Employment opportunities in the occupational safety and health field are ample. Recent graduates are employed at all levels of government, insurance carriers, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, hospitals, universities, transit authorities, and defense industries. For those who wish to pursue university teaching or research, MS OSHE graduates are qualified for admission into doctoral programs.
