Abstract
In this work, we study a system of equations concerning equilibrium positions in lubrication theory. The problem consists of two surfaces in relative motion separated by a small distance filled with a lubricant. The unknowns of the problem are the position of the surfaces and the pressure of the lubricant, while the total load applied to the system is known. The result shows the existence of at least one equilibrium.
