Create "public_html" Folder

Highlander AFS requires you to configure your account in order to host your web content. Please follow the instruction below to create your "public_html" folder which you will use to store the content for your website. After you create that folder you can use any web editing software to create your web pages. The home page has to be named as "index.htm".
  1. Run an SSH client.
  2. The "host" or "domain" should be "afsx.njit.edu" where x is any number between 1-36.
  3. Enter your username.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Type "home.page.setup" at the prompt.
  6. Type "y" and press ENTER.
  7. Type "exit" and close your telnet client.
  8. Run an SSH client.
  9. The "host" or "domain" should be "afsx.njit.edu" where x is any number between 1-36.
  10. Enter your username in the appropriate field.
  11. Enter your password in the appropriate field.
  12. Connect to the system.
  13. Upload your webpages to the "public_html" folder.
  14. Disconnect from the system.
