Fall 2009 Initiation Process

 

  • Sep 16 or 18:  Attend initiation meeting at FMH 321

 

  • Sep 21– Sep 25:   Bake Sale

          Bent Polishing will be held for 25 minutes. Necessary items will be provided.  Please stop by the office during and sign in.

          Quiz: IMPORTANT.  Candidates are expected to pass the quiz in order to be elected.  Please go over the information book page 2, 3, 4, 5, 18,19,  .         30, 32, and the last page.  As well enthusiastic candidates can find more information about Tau Beta Pi and our chapter via the headquarter website .         at www.tbp.org or via internet research.

 

  • Sep 28– Oct 2:  Bent Polishing & Quizzes

          Bake sale will be held for 1 hour. Candidate should write their names in the convenient time slots that are in front of the TBP office.

          Candidates are expected to bring in the stuff that will be sold.  Also, tables will be set up in the campus center, please stop by the office and collect the .         necessary items and sign in.

 

  • Oct 5– Oct 9:  Interview

          Interview will be held in 15-20 minutes.  Please stop by the office to sign in the convenient time slot.  Business Casual is not required.

          Bent will be given for candidates during the interview.  Please polish the bent and include it in the application package.

 

  • Oct 12– Oct 16:   Make-up activities

         Only ONE activity is allowed to be made up. Please sign in for a time slot and indicate clearly which activity will be made up.

  • Oct 19:  Application Packet due

 Full application packet includes:

· Application Form     Undergraduate Application     Graduate Application

· $85 Initiation Fee (Check/Cash)

· 3 Signatures from TBP Faculty

· 3 Signatures from TBP Members

· Proof that you have completed 5 hours of community service

· Polish bent

· Resume (HARD COPY ONLY)

· Graduates:  Essay 

Stop by the office to hand in the application packets. 

Elected members will be informed in two weeks after the deadline.  Please allow us time to judge your application.

· Initiation Ceremony: TBA 

 

Elected members will be informed of this event.  Elected members are required to be on time for the initiation ceremony. Any tardiness will postpone one’s initiation until next semester. 

Business Casual is required. 

Guests are welcome to join with us at the events.  The price for bring a guest is $30.  However, only members of Tau Beta Pi are allowed to participate in the ceremony. 

Guests who are not members can join the dinner later.
