How to Get to the Payment Summary Page through the Campus Pipeline

Summary:

There are many ways for a student to pay their tuition. One way is to physically go to the Bursar’s office and to give the desk clerk there a check under your name. A more convenient way is to go online and pay through the campus pipeline. This process description gives a detailed procedure of how to get to that page in order to make a payment. Following this process description will allow the student to arrive at the Payment Summary Page where he can then make a pay a portion of his tuition. There are also pictures corresponding to each step to guide you in the right direction.

Assumptions

·        Full time NJIT undergraduate student

·        Moderately skilled in navigating through the Internet

·        Student not on financial aid coverage or a full scholarship. There must be a tuition payment to be made.

·        NJIT student must also have a username and password to get on to the campus pipeline.

·        This student must not be late with his payment

Note:  It does not matter if student is on or off campus or if he or she is using a Mac or PC.

Highlander Pipeline--Starting Point

This is the main page that this process description starts at. This is referred to as the Highlander Pipeline Main page. 

  1. There are six gray tabs underneath the big red Highlander Pipeline banner. Click on the second one from the right labeled “Students Services” where the arrow is pointing at. This will take you to the student services section of the Pipeline. Clicking on any other of the gray tabs, will take you to a different section of your campus pipeline. For example, if you clicked on the “Student Government” tab on the right of the “Student Services” tab, then you will see the Student Government section of the Campus Pipeline. The section we are focusing on is the Student Service section. You know you clicked on the correct tab if on the next page, the former gray tab is now a red tab with white text stating “Student Services”.

Highlander Pipeline—Student Services Section

 This will take you to a page that looks very similar to the page you were just on. This is the Student Services section of the campus pipeline.

  1. Locate the black subtitle “Web for Students” on the left hand side of this new page underneath the same six gray tabs. Click on the blue “Student Services” tab directly underneath the subtitle located where the arrow is pointing at. This will direct you to the student services main page.  

Warning:   Keep in mind, on this page, there are two links that says “Student Services”: One with a gray background and the other in blue text. Click on the blue link. Clicking on the gray one will open up the same page you were just on.

Student Services Page

This brings you to the Student Services Page which is quite different than the previous two pages. This is a separate page that pops up after you click on the “Student Services” in blue text. At this page, there are three columns of links to click on with the following subtitles: Term, Personal Info, Student Records, Registration, Financial Aid, Courses, and Bursar Activities.

  1. Click on “Account Summary and Pay by Credit Card”. This is labeled underneath the “Bursar Activities” subtitle which is in the first column from the right; it’s where the arrow is pointing at. Be advised that clicking on any other link will direct you to a different page that is not following the path of this process description.

Warning: In order for this process to be done correctly, the term must be the current semester you are in. This process description WILL NOT WORK if you are in the wrong term. Make sure you are in the right term by clicking “Select Term” under the “Term” subtitle on the third column from the right. From there, you are able to change the semester to the current semester you are in. Once you’re done, go back to the main page.

This page will give you a summary of the account balance and a list of charges and credits and their description put onto your account balance. On the top of the page, under your name and term, there are two links labeled: “Please click here regarding important information on your account” and “Please click here regarding important information regarding your Financial Aid Refund”. Do not click on those. It also may vary in the case that some students may not have a credit section on this page due to lack of funds or scholarships. In that case, they will only have a “charges” column.

  1. You have arrived at the Payment Summary Page meeting the goal of the process description. This page will give you a summary of the account balance and a list of charges and their description put onto your account balance. Click on the box where the arrow is pointing to make a payment.
