Course Workload: There will be one implementation project (50%) and one exam (50%).

Grading Scale: A: 93% and above; B+: 86%-92.9%; B: 78%-85.9%; C+: 70%-77.9%; C: 60%-69.9%; F: Below 60%.

The implementation project is to build an advanced Oracle database system, to build a cloud database,
or to implement a parallel/distributed database engine using MapReduce and Hadoop on the Amazon Elastic MapReduce web service.

All term projects can be extended to a master's project or master's thesis.
