IFIP Working Group 8.3Welcome to the IFIP Working Group 8.3 Task Group on Knowledge Management. This group was formed at our most recent working conference in Cork, Ireland. Our first task is to decide on the scope and aims of the group. What is listed below is only a draft and comments are very much solicited. The second task is to create a track on knowledge management for our next conference to be held in Prato, Italy, at the beginning of July 2004. The third is to ??? (possibly produce a book, please provide your suggestions).
Aims
To develop and disseminate research on the application of information systems technology in knowledge management across a range of social levels (organization, group, individual).Scope
- The task group defines knowledge management in terms of the processes of creating, acquiring, sharing, using, updating and retaining knowledge.
- The task group recognizes the usefulness of the design, technical, managerial, behavioral, organizational, and economic perspectives on knowledge management.
- The task group encourages the exploration of the processes and socio-technological enablers of knowledge management in operational, innovation, and crisis situation contexts.
Conferences
