General Recommendation Engine (GRE) in Digital
Libraries: provides general recommendations to digital library users
using Collaborative Filtering, Content Filtering, and
Ontology techniques.
- Implemented the Content Filtering engine
which identifies similar documents in content to a given
document.
- Skills used: COM, VC++, ASP, Web Services, XML
- A demo system:
http://highlight.njit.edu/ais/
Digital Library Service Integration (DLSI): integrates digital libraries services through structural and lexical
links
- Implemented the Lexical Analysis engine which identifies
interesting elements from free text and associates them with
lexical links to thesauri databases and useful
services/resources.
- Skills used: COM, VC++, ASP, Web Services, XML, Java,
Java Serverlet, JSP
- A demo system:
http://highlight.njit.edu/lexical
- DLSI: http://hynic.njit.edu
Concept Hierarchy Developer: extracts noun phrases from
documents and develops a dynamic concept
hierarchy to facilitate searching and browsing
- Contributed to, in a team, the research of the concept
hierarchy developer.
- Developed and maintained the prototype system: a
meta-search engine
- Skills used: MS IIS,
COM, VC++, ASP, JavaScript
- System link: http://highlight.njit.edu
Keyphrase Identification Program (KIP): extracts
domain-specific keyphrases from documents with learning
functions
- Contributed to, in a team, the research of the KIP.
- Developed the noun phrase extraction module
