Abstract

Turning polymeric liquids into theorems Abstract: This sequence of lectures will give an overview of mathematical challenges and unsolved problems that arise in the modeling of polymeric liquids. The lectures are directed at a general audience and will start with an introduction to polymeric liquids. We shall then discuss solved and unsolved problems concerning existence, stability, asymptotic behavior at high Weissenberg number, and control.
