The NJIT Office of Research and Development has broad oversight for a number of university functions that touch the lives of research active faculty. These include grant opportunity development, proposal and grant contract management, industrial negotiations, intellectual property management and commercialization and government relations. Dr. Sebastian will describe the services available to faculty through the various divisions of ORD in the context of a lifecycle approach to grantsmanship. This includes grant sponsor identification, proposal development and submission, awards, tracking, reporting, patent generation and business venture development. Dr.Sebastian will also give an overview of the NJIT research enterprise. Current performance, comparison to peer institutions, and institutional themes will be discussed. Opportunities for increased involvement on the part of CCS faculty will be proposed, and an open discussion with attendees is encouraged. Dr. Sebastian would like this talk to be a dialog with the CCS Faculty.
