Abstract

This seminar integrates the results form several studies of software engineering data and equations that fit this data. The equations presented show how the software attributes of size, complexity, investment in tools and processes and staffing can be used to estimate project schedules, costs and reliability. The notion of bounding the execution space to improve system reliability and reduce maintenance costs will also be discussed.
