Vaibhav Patil is in his fourth year of postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School. Prior to this, he received the B.S. degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 2002, the M.D. degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ in 2008, and the M.S. in Medical Informatics from MIT, Boston, MA in 2011. Between 2002 and 2004, he has been involved in writing custom software for physicians at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has co-authored four peer-reviewed journal articles, a book chapter, and eight national and international peer-reviewed abstracts. His research interests include Electronic Health Records (EHRs), big data, image guidance for surgical procedures and the use of learning algorithms to analyze surgical data.
