Sudharshan S. Vazhkudai is a Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), a U.S. Department of Energy lab, and a Joint Faculty Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee. He has ten years of national lab experience, working in areas such as HPC, storage systems, large-scale data management, and data-intensive computing. His research has led to tools that have been deployed on the Jaguar supercomputer (No. 3 in Top500 list) and the Spallation Neutron Source’s data management infrastructure. He has led several projects in distributed storage systems and has served as PI or Co-PI on NSF, DOE ORNL LDRD and NIH funded projects. He has published over 50 papers in leading systems and HPC conferences. Sudharshan received a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi and conducted his doctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, working on grid data management.
