Nirman Kumar is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His interests are broadly in theoretical computer science, and more specifically in Approximation algorithms and Computational Geometry. Nirman completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2014 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, advised by Sariel Har-Peled. Prior to UIUC, he worked for companies like Chailabs (acquired by Facebook), Yahoo and Oracle. Even before that he received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from UIUC and his undergraduate (B.Tech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India.
