Ali Abdi (PhD), Professor

 

I received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota and joined the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department of New Jersey Institute of Technology. I am also a graduate faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences.

 

My research interests include wireless communication and propagation modeling in underwater, radio and oil well drill string channels, source localization, vector acoustic communication and signal processing, channel and parameter estimation techniques, modulation recognition, computational and systems biology, analysis of molecular networks and disease, and cell signaling,           

 

I  am a Senior Member of  IEEE  and  was an  Associate Editor  for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology from 2002 to 2007. I am also a Member of Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and Acoustical Society of America (ASA). I have served as technical program committee member and chair for a number IEEE, SfN and ASA conferences. At NJIT, I am affiliated with the Center for Wireless Information Processing.
