Appealing a (Letter) Grade

  1. Go to the NJIT Provost web-page, and click on the URL Grade Appeal Policy document, to view or download it. Previously the document was located at Grade Appeal Policy document, but it has since moved to its current location! To briefly summarize its contents: (a) read the reasons you can file an appeal for a letter grade assigned to you, (b)collect all relevant documentation, and (c) collect all email exchanges with the instructor. Put everything into a document. You have a limited time frame to file an appeal no later than the end of the third week of the semester subsequent to the grade posting. You file an appeal with the Department's Chairperson. He/She will decide whether to forward it to the CS Department Grade appeal committee.
