Midterm EXAM1 scheduled for Tue Oct 18 (10/12)
The midtem exam will cover Subjects 0,1,2,3,4. This material includes from the designated textbook
Chapter 1, Chapter 2 (but not section 2.11 on plotting), and Chapter 3 (but not sections 3.4 and 3.5).
(No questions will be asked in the midterm on the use of format and fprintf functions.)

The Lectures, show the code used in each class and is indexed by date. The Subject Code refers to
code available in the Subject notes and is usually being made available in bulk in the form of
a tar archive. Read Handout 2 for instructions on how to deal with tar or zip files on a Unix
system.
