04/16 Exam 2 posted The exam (pdf) and solutions (M-file) have been
posted. Note that for certain problems involving code-writing, the indicated solution is one
of many possible. The M-file utilizes a structure similar to that of MP2: a primary
function with multiple subfunctions.

04/16 Last day of CS 101-104 is Wed Apr 29; Last day of NJIT classes is Wed May 6
Note that the last day of classes for a Wed class is April 29th.
Wed May 6 was to be a Reading Day. Because of the snow situation it
would now follow a Monday schedule. Thus the last
day of classes for our CS101-104 section is April 29th. We have completed the 12th class and there
are two more classes left, a one week break, followed by the final exam on May 13th (which is the
fifteenth meeting of the semester) as also noted at
Final Exam Schedule (Registrar).
-
04/10 Exam2 Reminder 2 Note that the exam is scheduled
for Apr 15, in approximately five days from now (Fri 4/10). The first
notice/reminder contains information about topics to be covered etc.
All MATLAB diaries have been posted for the first 11 weeks of classes.
The class will resume at approximately 7:45pm after the exam. At that
time, you may also ask questions about MP2, which is due one week later.
All of the material needed for MP2 has been covered in class already.
However after the MP2 question/answering session, more examples on
different types of functions will be presented in class related to
primary functions, subfunctions, nested and private functions. This material
is critical and important; roughly one third of the points in the final will
deal with functions, if not more.

03/10 Exam 1 grading and MP1 status Exam1 and solutions to it (in MATLAB) have been posted.
Exam related statistics are also available in Section C. The exam is expected to be returned
at around the 7:30pm break in class. MP1 gets finalized (eg emails), as
emphasis shifted on midterm grading during the past week.
By late afternoon on Tue 10 Mar you should have received an email
(most, if not all of you). If you have not received an email by noon time Wed 11 Mar do the following:
(a) double-check that you sent an email to the TA, (b) you also sent that same email to the instructor
and yourself. There have been instances of studens who did not send one or the other email in violation
of Rules 2 and 3. We are trying to reconcile some of these cases, if possible.
It might still be the case that our search of our records was incomplete: for at least some
students who took Exam 1, neither the TA nor the
instructor ever received an email re MP1. So we are asking those students who did not follow Rule 2,
to tell us if anyone of us got his or her email. If you receive by noon tomorrow an email from us, it
mean everything is fine; if not double check your records, and let us know of it!
-

01/23 and 01/24 Web issue (resolved Mon 01/26@3pm)
The form in Section B might not be working properly on Friday 23 Jan, 2015.
This has to do with a hardware/software update at NJIT that will become
effective around Jan 27.
Until this is completed (a) if you are outside of NJIT and need to use the form
you must first use VPN; otherwise you will get a timeout message.
(b) if you are inside NJIT or using a VPN from outside NJIT, everything
should work OK now (Sat 1/24@14:58).
Updates will be provided as soon as they are made available for those of you
who do not use (or do not know how to use) VPN outside of NJIT.
As of Mon 1/26@3pm, the form in section B has been working properly.
