(Note the <= 25 bonus point possibility) [ The class average including bonuses is 670; traditionally in curving this is borderline to B and C+ but my group grading is more generous] RULE 1. Final Exams at 25% of 333 = 83.25 receive an automatic F per Syllabus(Handout 1). If letter grade is assigned here it is final; for all other cases it will involve RULE 2 and ADJUSTMENTS 1-3. RULE 2. Students are then groupped 'curve like' per half of standard deviation (usually 70pts). Final Letter grades are decided for the remaining non-RULE 1 students. ADJUSTMENT-1 RULE-2 students with (< 500 pts) but with points at least 50% of top student's points and an Exam 3 at MORE than 50% of top Final Exam grade also get a C even if they have < 500 pts. ADJUSTMENT-2 Otherwise, RULE-2 students in range 400-500 are assigned a D grade and 0-399 students are assigned an F grade. ADJUSTMENT-3 Students at more than 500 points are assigned letter grades accordingly per RULE-2.
