Failure of strict adherence to 3(a)(b)(c) your exam gets immediately a zero and Syllabus applies. FOR EXAM 3 the 'leave the exam room' policy might be different. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ****************************************************************** The rest of this email should be familiar from Doc 0, Doc 3 and applies only to the canvas-based Exam1 and Exam 2. ****************************************************************** 4. The exam link will be published in canvas early on Monday. The exam link will be ***visible*** then. The exam link will be ***clickable*** then. The Exam will NOT be ***viewable*** yet. The Exam will NOT be ***doable *** yet. (If you click on the link you might get an authentication error.) 5. The Exam will be ***viewable*** and ***doable *** (a) after Available-From time (canvas setting) has been reached, and (b) after you enter the classroom, you power on your laptop, you use the browser to connect to canvas, click on the exam in Quizzes in canvas, and you type in the password given to you by the instructor (it will be written inside a drawn rectangular box at the start of the class and it is case sensitive). Exam time starts then (completion of step (b) usually within 5 minutes of the start of class) and a countdown is visible in the canvas quiz/exam area (at the top of a possibly scrollable page). 6. From that point on, the exam completes in one of three possible ways, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST, and as long as any credentials of yours do not expire (this is based on info communicated by IST), (i) YOU press a SUBMIT button in canvas and submit your answers, [YOU HAVE ONLY ONE SUBMIT OPPORTUNITY] (ii) the canvas COUNTDOWN has reached 0 (time limit expiration), (iii) AVAILABLE-UNTIL event has been triggered (and exam ceases to be available). Based on Canvas behavior communicated to me by IST, in cases (ii) and (iii) canvas ordinarily autosubmits. In case (i) you initiate a SUBMIT event. If your myUCID password expires sometime during the exam or after a prior NJIT authentication, Canvas MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AUTOSUBMIT. This is the reason you were instructed at the start of the semester to reset / renew your credentials (myUCID login+password).
