At most three signatures will be collected during the exam: (a) on the (cover page of the) exam paper, (b) during the exam (receipt signature) in the exam roster handed out 15 minutes from the start, and (c) in the case of early departure (turnin signature), in the exam roster again when you turn in the paper exam. • (04/11) FINAL EXAM COVERAGE INFORMATION. The CS 332 final exam is EXAM 3 (350pt in 120min) and is a paper exam.
The material to be covered is Chapter 1 through and including Chapter 13 of the designated textbook. Also, Subjects 0 through and including Subject 13. Subject 1 through Subject 12 map to Chapters 1-12 of the designated textbook but not directly (e.g. Subject 5 maps to Chapter 9). Subject material SUPPLEMENTS the textbook, IT DOES NOT REPLACE THE TEXTBOOK. No questions in the exam from Subject 12 (Chapter 6). Parts of Subject 13 covered in Subject 10 (e.g. Unix access rights / permissions) may appear in the exam. The other material of Subject 13 not previously covered will not appear in the exam. Also note that the Subjects have additional material not covered in the textbook at all or only covered in the textbook in less detail (eg fork()). Subjects 9, 10, 11 and 12 coverage is sparse in terms of homework practice; attend class and practice with self assessments. Read the textbook first, then in a second review, check the subjects for material that was missed or absent from the book. Homeworks and self-assessments may be used for practice, if available and relevant. Some sample exams are provided: use them at your discretion. Some of those (past exam) problems have become self-assessment or homework problems or exam problems in Exam 1 and Exam 2.
